Well, we’ve got a winner in the I’m a Total Fucking Moran Teabagger competition.
It’s none other than Sen. Sheryl Nuxoll, R-Cottonwood Idaho who has determined that the Teabaggers can still win the presidential election for Mittens by having 17 of the 23 states that went for Romney simply stay home when the Electoral College ”meets” to declare Obama the winner.
Here’s Nuxoll taking to Twitter to twat her imbecility for all the world to see:
“A ‘last chance’ to have Mitt Romney as President in January (it’s still not too late).”
[I]f 17 of the 24 states that Romney carried refuse to participate in the Electoral College, the college would have no quorum, throwing the presidential pick to the GOP-controlled House of Representatives.”
Yeah, not so much Senator.
See, what the 12th Amendment to the U.S Constitution actually says — should you ever fucking bother to read it you fucking cretinous twit — is that when no candidate receives a majority of 270 in the Electoral College, the decision moves to the House, where each state would have one vote and a quorum of two-thirds of the states would be required in order to open the floor to a vote.
There is no quorum requirement for the Electoral College — what is required in the Electoral College is that whomever gets to 270 first wins the fucking race.
And that already happened.
What the 12th Amendment is referring to when it mentions a quorum is a quorum representing two thirds of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Oy! The stooopid, it burns!
