Whenever I hear Sen. Franken speak I start out listening for the punchline., but that might be what makes him a great speaker; we are paying attention to what he talking about waiting for the payoff.

Al tore him a new one, no question, but if you watch the 18 minute extended version, that senile dickwad, McCain, gave Thune his debate time so he could get the last word in, and Thune still bullshitted up a storm to which Franken was not allowed to reply.
I’m so disgusted by this whole process — Lieberman raping the Democrats and them saying it’s okay, the Repugnicans constantly saying NFW — that I honestly hope the bill dies. That may be the only way the Democratic leaders finally understand they’re working with maniacs on the other side and should just do what they can without them. There ARE ways around obstructionist assholes like the GOP and the “moderate” Democrats who love them. After all, the GOP used them for years.
