LISTEN UP STRAIGHT PEOPLE
I’m sick to fucking death of fighting in the blogosphere for my civil rights, and fighting in person by going to protests and sending in my hard earned money to support causes that defend my right to be who I am and getting nothing from so many of you fucking hetero clowns in return except mumbled words of support.
Or, in the case of bloggers like John Cole over at Balloon Juice who purport to be our friends, outright contempt and condescension for how we’ve chosen to fight for our civil rights while at the same time doing basically nothing themselves to help us — except of course to back seat drive while heaping scorn and derision upon our efforts.
If you’re a straight person you need to read this open letter from Doug Kahn and pay fucking attention because as long as you sit on the sidelines while me and my husband, people whom you know and purport to love, are denied the rights that you enjoy simply because of who we are then as far as I’m concerned. . . well, you’re not my friends and never will be again.
It’s game time straight people, and has been for a while. But now its time for you to come off the bench where you’ve been comfortably seated and watching from the sidelines. And when you do we need you to bring your A game because your gay and lesbian friends and family members need you.
If you want to be on the right side of history and actually be able to look yourselves in the mirror thirty years from now its not nearly enough that you be able to say, “I supported gay civil rights” because simply agreeing with us in your mind isn’t enough — you need to do the right thing and get involved.
Get involved on behalf of people who you think of as your friends and your family. . . we would do it for you. Because doing it for ourselves as we have been clearly isn’t working.

I’m Saying Every Straight Person Who Doesn’t Start Speaking Up Is A Spineless Weasel

A question for all the people in Maine (and in the 30 other elections) who rejected equality for LGBT people. What in flipping hell is wrong with you straight people? And what’s wrong with you, all you straight people who won’t speak up against the inhumanity of other straight people, you who let pass all the hate speech in day-to-day life?
You enjoy being the ruling class so much that you look away from reason, you refuse to think?
Count on it, in 40 years we’ll all be talking about you the way we now talk about the idiots who opposed equality for African-Americans in the 1950s and 1960s. The morons who maintained that women really shouldn’t be allowed to go to law school or medical school. And the larger group who stood around and did nothing, said nothing, didn’t tell their friends off.
I hope your grandchildren read about this in school, come home and ask, with an attitude of disbelief, what you did about the injustice. You did something, didn’t you grandma, grandpa? Your well-deserved destiny is the shame and disgust that comes from your loved ones.

What a message.
Unfortunately, this variety of boldness is, more often than not, looked down upon. Such a shame. It’s this intrepidity that needs to come from the straight world in regards to HUMAN rights. Funny that the party that considers themselves most in tune with the rights of the common man, the Republican (Conservative) party, are most often the types of people who propagate this kind of senselessness.
Kudos to Mr. Kahn.

I call them heteros, but also the homos who in your country seem to have something to do with drinking tea, the “go out and procreate till the planet melts” crowd. If they think that is god’s plan, fine: we all will be finished within about a century . . . yeah, keep on breeding till NYC is flooded, and California is desert again !
They should be thankful that at least part of the population does not feel the sole purpose of existence is breeding to produce 2,3 of your own species is the main purpose in life
The r.c. church kept preaching the sun revolved around the earth. and burning people who dared to say they were wrong. Sanctity of marriage? Why have they not declared divorce illegal ? If they took their christian bible as serious as some Iranians do the koran they should hang everybody who leaves his wives or takes a few others.
