I GET EMAILS FROM MY POPS
“Lisa, {an old family friend of ours} if I did not tell you, died Saturday after an heroic fourteen month long battle with cancer and the incompetence of some of her doctors — they accidentally cut into her colon, mis-reconnected it, infection spread, they reconnected it again but this time, because of their incompetence the first time, added a colostomy bag that she was able to enjoy being attached to for the last six months of her life, which in and of themselves were miserable even if she had been able to shit normally, which of course she couldn’t.
We’re not quite there/with our health care, if I may wax poetic about something that contains absolutely no poetry — just tragedy”
Love,
Dad
An email from my father this morning.
Best fuckin’ health care in the world ladies and gentlemen, best health care in the world.

If the medical establishment was held responsible for every act of incompetence contributing to someone’s death there would be no health care anywhere. It’s tragic.
On a completely unrelated topic Scott, you and your father have similar writing styles. I like that.
