NEW LINKS
I’ve got a couple of new blogs in the links section this morning — and I’ve removed a little dead wood as well.
Both of the blogs are by the same person — Lyndon Evans — and the first one, Focus on the Rainbow, is a gay issues oriented news blog published by the Hearst Publishing people.
But don’t think its just gay news and only gay news because Lyndon does posts on other truly fascinating stuff such as a post on The Horrors of Being Gay During the Witch Hunts 1450-1750.
Lyndon’s other blog that I’ve just linked to is called The Bitchy Old Queen (seriously, I could have named this blog that instead of BIE and gotten not a peep of argument from any of you} and it says that it is, “The News Magazine 60 Minutes Wishes it Could Be.”
You should make both a regular stop on your daily blog rolling tours.
Scott

Thank you Scott for the posting and links.
A little background on the two blogs.
First, Bitchy Old Queen was what I was called when I was in my 20’s. Actually the entire phrase was, “you’re a bitchy old queen like Maude”. as in the popular TV show at the time. Well as the boys soon learned, piss me off, and like Maude I pull no punches. What was always amusing the I was and still am, anything from being a queen, more like John Wayne with an itching for tight ass.
Anyway, I wanted to do a fun blog which matches my sarcastic Yankee sense of humor (got that from my grandfather) and needed a break from doing “seriousness” all the time. I really started BOQ for myself as a way to play and have some fun. The fact that people enjoy it, and more important, “get it”, is icing on the cake.
Although the blog is only a few months old it has already taken a couple of direction turns. I got so fed up to listening to Wolf Blitzer saying of CNN, “the best team in news”, that I started the tagline on several postings, “the best team in the bitchy world of news”.
Also as a poke to them and their I-reporter, I started I-Bitch reporter and “being the Bitch of the day”. The bit about the poke at 60 Minutes came after Don Hewitt passed, and having worked for CBS Broadcasting and being a longtime fan of Don, it’s my own little dedication to him.
I see that today (Monday) many came over from this posting to have a look and scan the blog quite a bit.
In the labels section you will see, “it ain’t a real story folks”, which are my own little spoof articles based on real news. There are several now, so click on the label and all that have been written will come up. Having been a reporter that has been a joy in and of itself to write these little spoofs. Two “articles” that folks keep going to are about “Anderson Cooper moving to ABC” and “Anderson Cooper and Rachel Maddow love the Bitchy Old Queen”.
In fact the other day at a feed site for Maddow the latter story is at the feed site pulled because it has Rachel Maddow in the title. Now that’s a hoot !
The other blog Focus On The Rainbow which is at Hearst Newspapers has an interesting story to that too.
Back in March I was asked by someone at one of the Hearst newspapers here in CT if I would write a blog on LGBT issues as they were developing “professional blogs” for their website. I said I would be happy to, but I wasn’t sure how well it would be received and also there really isn’t enough news pertaining to LGBTs in CT all the time. In any case they asked me again in June and said they would really like me to write the blog and could be about any LGBT news or commentary not just for CT.
Long and short, I started it July 1, and the first month with scattered postings was number 21 out of 50 blogs. In September it jumped up to 18 and then seeing there was interest, since October 1 there is at least one daily posting Mon – Sat and the last report I received it has moved up to lucky number 13, again out of 50 blogs.
So needless to say I very happy with the results, not just for being an LGBT (I put the B in LGBT) but as a former, well was former until I started FOTR, rAssociated Press award winnner reporter, it has proved there is interest in an LGBT blog. The blog appears on all four websites of the newspapers Hearst owns in CT which again, is a hoot !
So to those of you who have visited thank you, I hope you’ll keep coming back particularly to FOTR and for those who have stopped by this post of Scott , I hope you’ll take a look at Bitchy Old Queen and Focus On The Rainbow.
And Scott thank you very much again for “sharing me” with your readers.
It was good for me, I hope it was good for you. Now I need a cigarette.

It’s always good when you let me pass you around to my friends like a cheap, pass around party bottom Lyndon.
Now wipe yer ass with yer underwear and get the fuck out. I need to sleep for a while and your snoring keeps me awake.
