Well, that’s not totally right — what we’ve accomplished for ourselves and our country is that instead of making Iraq and Afghanistan more like us, we’ve become much more like them.

I get a ton of images from the various Tumblr blogs {which I tend not to credit because they share their images across other Tumblr sites and I check at least three dozen of them a day with many images repeating from site to site} but one in particular — [Winter Aconite] by a Miami blogger named Kendryk — is really an exceptional example of the Tumblr milieu and one that’s always struck me for its originality and expressiveness.

This kid has an exceptional eye both for male imagery and any other interesting, original looking things that may be out there on the interweb and worthy of posting for his readers {and his} amusement.

Give [Winter Aconite] a looksee if you get the chance and as you get familiar with the Tumblr format and its sites make sure you check out each blog posts “reblog” source {back link}, because many of those source sites are almost as good as Kendryk’s.  Almost.

My Pops and Step Monster live just two blocks up the same street as the Louisville Slugger Museum.  I’m thinking maybe I should suggest to them that they submit this picture for entry into the museum’s photo archives.

That was Marty Peretz the publisher of The New Republic weighing in on the Park 51 Community Center nontroversy.

Here’s the text of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or Abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Marty Peretz, a Jew who is a descendant of the Yiddish writer I. L. Peretz, is as vile a person as one can imagine for so many reasons and for more past offenses than one can count.

But this really goes so far beyond the pale as to be almost jaw dropping in its depravity.

Here’s a guy, Peretz, who from his family tree can be assumed to have lost relatives in the holocaust, calling for exactly the same type of treatment for American Muslims that his relatives suffered under at the hands of the Nazis.

There really isn’t much I can say to that except to ask Mr. Peretz and those who support his disgusting line of thinking, when is it we can expect you to start agitating for places like this for Muslim Americans?

And then of course its just a short hop, skip and a jump from there to here:
