Hey little sister who's your Superman?

WHY MY EX IS MY EX

This took place in my home the weekend of the grand opening of Q.  The attack took place while the victim was a guest in my home and while I was asleep in another room.

The attacker/rapist was my then husband of ten years — Richard L. Schmitt. As soon as it became clear what had happened I threw him out out of the house and out of my life.

State v. Richard Schmitt (12-1-05748-2):

“On October 21, 2012, Schmitt was charged with one count of Assault in the Second Degree with Intent to Commit Rape in the Second Degree after it was reported to the Bellevue Police Department that he had forcibly penetrated the anus of a male acquaintance with his penis. According to the Certification for Determination of Probable Cause, the victim was under the influence of alcohol and sleeping medication and awoke to find Schmitt penetrating his anus with his penis, and he pushed Schmitt away. On April 30, 2013, the original charge against Schmitt was amended to Assault in the Second Degree with Sexual Motivation and an additional charge of Rape in the Second Degree was added. On October 10, 2013, Schmitt pled guilty to one charge of Assault in the Third Degree, and on October 25, 2013, he was sentenced to 3 months of work release. He will not have to register as a sex offender. This case took approximately 12 months to reach a resolution, with 9 continuances between filing and sentencing.”

Thanks to Jerry at Fun4Me for finding this.

Oh, and this is the face of a rapist — if you live in Seattle, avoid him:

    Looks like a bottom bitch to me. Congrats Scott on dumping the creep.

  2. Nick Says:

    Sorry you had to go through this, it must’ve been a shock.

  3. Damien Says:

    As stated elsewhere – I hope harm comes to this cum ridden piece of maggot filth.

    As a Jew I take no pride in that. But evil is evil.

  4. Gregorio Says:

    He doesn’t have to register as a sex offender after trying to force sex on someone without their consent but kids sharing nude pics via texts (out of naivety) due?!?!?!? This world is truly fucked up.

    I feel bad for you, it must have been difficult for you. It’s to bad he got off so light, but things have a way of working out, kismet can be a stone cold bitch. Maybe someone will drop a safe out a window.

    I was dismayed when I first read about this . . . Initially, he seemed like a warm, caring and mensch-y husband–albeit one who came under increasingly untolerable levels of stress, particularly during his posting to Beijing, with its terrible air pollution.

    I realize that none of the stress exonerates the deed, but what was the trigger or turning point that changed his personality, and set the stage for this?

    Wow. Just WOW. Thanks for the details; I heard you talk about this in more general terms when you were interviewed by Space Otter & friends (great program, too, thanks for that link).

    Offender registry must be different in Washington State. Where I am, a conviction with a sexual component would result in a minimum of 10 years on the list.

    Oh well, you got rid of the shit heel and now have Bish & Vas. Much better deal. :)

  8. Scott Says:

    GK, He’s nuts. That’s what.

  9. Unlikely Says:

    I hold it true, whate’er befall;
    I feel it when I sorrow most;
    ‘Tis better to have loved and lost
    Than to have to live with that asshole for the rest of your life.

    Alls I can say is that I’m damn good at finding public information on the internet. Oh, and that I’m a journalist. Go figure.
