Hey little sister who's your Superman?

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Incomes rose more than 11 percent for the top 1 percent of earners during the economic recovery, but not at all for everybody else, according to new data.”

The New York Times  yesterday.

And Unemployment rose by 11 percent for everybody else, so it all balances it out” possible story on Faux Busyness News.

The fucking we get by those Idiots who vote for the Repukes and say there is no difference between the parties. And while I am at it Obama’s Justice Dept is not worth a shit including Eric Holder.

Did you see Senator Elizabeth Warren on the Banking Committee last week, she gave some of those bastards who were supposed to be overseeing the banks a reaming, they were speechless and their attitude was “no one has ever talk to us that way and held us to account”.

  3. Todd in DC Says:

Many of the 99% vote republican because the repubs are more “moral” than the democrats.

    Sad, no?

It’s THIS kind of shit that makes me furious.
The USA needs to seriously take a good hard look at itself and ask, ‘are we REALLY the “the home of the free”‘, because I’ll tell you what – when you’re living in your car, foraging for food-stamps, and have no access to a proper welfare system that enables you (and your family) to REALLY have a hand-up and help with finding, and keeping, housing, food and education, then you HAVE NO FREEDOM.
The USA’s politicians need to stop lying about this imaginary “welfare state” that they’re so frightened of (even though they invented the bloody concept in the first place), and adopt long-standing, well-managed and WORKING welfare systems that the rest of the developed world has in place, like here in Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and parts of Europe, for example.
Sure, there are always a (very) small number of what we call “dole-bludgers” (people NOT looking for work and fraudulently claiming Government benefits), but the MAJORITY of welfare recipients here in Australia are given a helping hand with small fortnightly payments, concession cards (for 1/2 price public transport, free Ambulance Cover and access to Public [and sometimes Private!] Hospitals) and, most importantly, usually mandatory FREE placements with job employment agencies who can, and usually do, find a welfare recipient safe, on-going work relevant to the job-seeker’s skills and interests.
Yes, the Tax system pays for all this, but the money is well-spent when new folks enter the workforce and start paying their own taxes – and the circle goes on, with very few fiscal dramas.
For the Republican and “Christian”…*cough*…American, the idea of “sharing the wealth” is outrageous.
What is really outrageous is that they call themselves Christian when they have that attitude. It may be a cliché, but it is too relevant to ignore – What Would Jesus Do?
I have a niggling feeling that he’d probably share what little he had, if it meant helping someone help themselves :)
    Jack xx
