I ALWAYS LIKED THIS UNIFORM
As a Marine I never had much time for Squids — except of course the hospital corpsmen attached to my combat infantry unit — and I’ve always found their uniforms to be some of the worst in the armed forces.
But I always liked seeing a Navy hard body wearing this particular uniform.
They tend to wear it tight and the cut of the trou never left anything — front or back — to the imagination.

must have a side zipper, otherwise it would take two other guys to get it on and off.
unless of course that is the whole idea, buddy dressing.

I forgot to add. I’m partial to the dress blues.
I love the drop front panel pants.

They have button sides, Mark. At least they did back in my day. And I know this because I’ve unbuttoned many a pair of them.

sorry my error, disjointed thoughts. the pants panel is currently buttoned, although I understand that in a couple of years the Navy will be issuing uniforms with a “hidden” center zipper and decorative button front. I think that is a crime. something that might be good is the dress whites will have blue or black stripping to mirror the white stripping on the dress blues.
the side zipper I was referring to would be on the jumper.

It’s a surprise to see my daddy’s photo on your blog.
