1. Marines do not like to be called Sarge, it’s Sergeant (Reminds me too much of the Army)
2. That picture is a Staff Sergeant not a Gunny. (Never call him a Sarge)

First of all Dances, I’m a Marine — so I can call a fellow Marine anything I want. In fact, I was a Marine Sergeant, so there’s that.
It’s kind of like the use of the “N” word. Its fine for African-Americans to use, not so much white folks.
Secondly, Three stripes up and two stripes down with crossed rifles in the center is a Gunnery Sergeant — which, if I’m seeing his insignia correctly, is what this Marine is. Although the image isn’t all that clear.
But thanks for lecturing me on Marine Corps etiquette and our rank insignia.
