It’s interesting that the republican national leadership was apparently unable to find a candidate to run for the United States Senate from the Commonwealth of Virginia who wasn’t an out of the closet, avowed white supremacist.

I imagine the decision was made at the State level, by rich
Virginians who still bemoan Lincoln’s taking away their right to own people.

147 years and counting and the South still is unwilling to accept that they lost. I guess that explains why 2 presidential campaign defeats doesn’t it count as a “tip of the iceberg.”
