SAYING FAREWELL TO THE FALLEN
Soldiers of the Royal New Zealand Infantry perform the Haka as a sign of respect and to say goodbye to one of their own who was killed in action.
This is an incredible and unique display of respect and grief for a fallen comrade.

a warrior’s death requires a warrior’s farewell. what an amazing and powerfully masculine ritual. thanks for sharing it scott.

Since I know you always insist on accuracy Scott …. not “the Haka” but “a haka.” Each unit, tribe, team, etc., has its own. The All Blacks use “Ka Mate.” This is the haka of the 2nd/1st Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment: “Te Waka.”
