THE SATANIC BARGAIN OF THE EVANGELICALS
Here’s the thing you need to know about Christian Evangelicals like Mike Huckabee — the conservative former governor and Christian preacher from Jesus Rode a Dinosaur Land who just endorsed Mitt Romney — and anyone else who claims to be a Christian but who intends to vote for Mitt Romney:
Before Mitt Romney became the republican standard bearer, Evangelical Christians pretty much everywhere considered Romney’s church — the Church of Latter Day Saints {The Mormons} to be a completely depraved, satanic cult.
And they all still do!
Here’s Walter Martin in his seminal study of American cults — Kingdom of the Cults:
“It is evident for all to see that Mormonism strives with great effort to masquerade as the Christian Church complete with an exclusive message, infallible prophets, and higher revelations for a new dispensation that the Mormons would have us believe began with Joseph Smith.
But it is the verdict of both history and biblical theology that Joseph Smith’s religion is a polytheistic nightmare of garbled doctrines draped with the garment of Christian terminology. This fact, if nothing else, brands it as a non-Christian, satanic cult system.”
See, here’s the thing — if you’re familiar with any real Christian church you’ll know that they will not allow practicing Mormons to worship with them and, in fact, if a person comes from the LDS Church and wishes to switch to even a mainline Christian church {forget one that’s rabidly, Christian fundamentalist} there is a required educational process for the Mormons that borders on actual deprogramming.
In other words, Christians like Mike Huckabee HATE fucking Mormons and Mormonism.
And they hate them and their church with a deep and abiding passion because they believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be one that actually worships Satan, and not God.
But the Mike Huckabees of the world, and so-called Christians everywhere across this land of ours, are gonna vote for the Mormon.
Because to them its more important that they get a republican in the White House than the fact that by doing so, and casting their vote for Romney, the country will be, in their minds and in their theology, led by a worshiper of Satan.
And that, my friends, tells you all you need to know about conservative republicans who claim to be Christians but who intend to vote for Romney.

What I think would make some people’s heads explode (read the American Taliban . . . otherwise known as fundie Christian zealots) is the fact that those wackadoodle Mormons actually believe Jesus and Satan are brothers!
That and the fact that the Mormon iconography depicting Jesus borders on being just shy of gay porn is another reason for Mike Huckabee and his ilk to get themselves in a snit.

Huckabee’s endorsement was one amazing piece of work. @brian . . . religious beliefs???? ….. the bigots are always going to find some excuse to choose the white guy over the black man . . . . we are dealing with a Republican party that has gone fucking completely off the rails . . . Superman would hang his head in shame . . . truth, justice, and the American way have no place with these talibangelicals.

After being raised in a ‘socially’ Christian home and then doing the usual young adult-neck deep in it period, I’ve eventually moved all the way across to atheism. And standing outside watching the various denominations, and cults (you have to call LDS & Scientology cults) bash each other for being wrong and loving the ‘wrong’ God.. I wonder how many more millennia it will take before we become emotionally mature. We seem to have moved on from sacrificing babies… but only just.

AS FOR SOUTHERN CHRISTIANS — I go back to the “Campus Crusade for Christ” visiting the Berkeley campus, before the sexual revolution that came at the end of the 60s. I remember talking to sorority girls from Dallas who were all about how Christ could save you, while I just knew that they were putting out to their boyfriends.
IT’S ALL ABOUT WHAT THEY TELL THEMSELVES IS TRUE — for instance, they ignore that mormons feel and act superior to everyone, and they ignore that birther crap is racism

Endorsing the Mormon makes a certain amount of sense, as the Christians know that Mittens will be for the state support of “faith-based” initiatives or programs, or whatever they call circumventing the separation of church and state. This is the one area where Romney has some sort of a track record in Massachusetts. What is good for one cult is good for the other.
