GK our lighting designer has software installed so that wherever he is in the world he can take control of our system if we have a problem with it, reprogram the software remotely, and then run the system from his phone if need be.

For daily use our lights will be controlled from the lighting station in the DJ booth where we’ve got a $25,000 lighting control board and flat screens for the lighting tech.

The Stranger article mentioned that the lighting system can be controlled remotely by smartphone. How does this work, specifically? Can the DJ run the smartphone app as he spins tracks, or do you, as the owner, have the ability to run the lighting app as you roam around the dancefloor?

Hi Scott, Thanks for a great blog. I have been following it for years and your club development too. So many gay guys dream of opening a club or doing something new but never do; you have gone and done it! It’s great. Glad it is going well. I did something similar this year by finally getting a gay book published on Kindle (along with 700,000 others!!) and it is great to get something moving and feel a sense of achievement.
I read your blog for the great political comments and very fine pics too. I always follow American elections (I live in Sweden) and hope this one turns out for the best. Now Romney has come out as a birther the chances are getting better daily!
I hope the club’s opening goes well and that you get lots of offers now you are becoming more available!! All the very best, Jonathan
