LET THERE BE LIGHT!
We did the first ever sound and lighting check at the club last night and it was pretty fucking amazing.
This in spite of the fact that the sound system was only running at 50% and wasn’t tuned and the lights weren’t done being programmed.
Hopefully I’ll have some video of it up later on, but until then you can get a sense of things from these images here.

It looks amazing, Scott! I’ve told all of my Seattle friends!

You must be giddy as a schoolgirl Scott.
I feel sorry for people outside the business. They will never know the excitement of starting up new equipment or the sublime pleasure of being alone in your place with the sound and lights powered up.

From the looks of things, this place would be an absolute mindfuck on anything hallucinogenic.
Awesome, but a total mindfuck.

“Mindfuck” kind of works for an event theme!
I am so glad everyone is digging the ceiling, when you first mentioned the idea of it I just knew it would be phenomenal and here is the proof. Great job Scott!

Steals all the thunder from the Mars Curiosity expedition, doesn’t it?

Yeah, wow. I love the array of lights above. I’m sure it looks even more awesome in person.

Scott, it’s looking good! I predict you’ll add LED pixel tubes to the ceiling to do low resolution video and additional cool lighting FX.
Knowing how you like to take a friendly (most of the time) jab at “poncy Brits”, I was originally surprised by your choice of Funktion One. Am I far off in guessing that it reminds you of Shorty’s system in your favorite NYC club? Heady days of club sound, those were. At any rate, Tony Andrews, founder of Funktion One, was also a founder of TurboSound (although no longer associated with them). I’ve had some great shows on Turbo gear designed by Tony and it was tremendous honor when he spent 30 minutes discussing speaker design and aural physics with my crew. He’s a class act. You’re certain to be pleased with your system; it comes with a real pedigree.
Now, tell us more about Vancouver….

It is very exiting to see the quality of your creation ! As an old New Yorker the impression leave the usual mediocrity in the wake !
