Hey little sister who's your Superman?

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“As Rachel Maddow astutely pointed out this morning in reaction, can you imagine the outrage if a Democratic candidate who had no military experience had opted to use a battleship as the backdrop for a vice presidential announcement?

Romney, who came of age at the height of Vietnam conflict, went to France for his 31-month LDS mission and received four draft deferments. Given his reputation for being on every side of an issue, Romney proudly recounts that he supported our involvement in Vietnam, as long as others fought it for him.

When asked if his sons would serve their country in the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions he similarly supported, Romney told reporters in 2007 that “[o]ne of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping to get me elected because they think I’d be a great president.”

The second comment about the sons speaks once again , along with the Ryan pick . This is truly the election of the two Americas. I believe the good in people will motivate them to do the right thing. I am just bumfuzzled that so many poor Republicans vote against their own self interest, because anything is better than a black man in the White House. Trying to be more cohesive here , Romney will not get his hands dirty if in the White House. He will never volunteer a day for Habitat for Humanity . He will never have a Nobel Prize like Al Gore and Jimmy Carter. and Barak Obama although I am somewhat puzzled about that one . The only entitlements Romney wants are his own. Ryan is a bitch for the very rich. This just reminded me of MISSION ACCOMPLISHED so I think somewhere in the future the Battleship Wisconsin will come back to haunt George W. 2.0

I’ve always found it interesting that the biggest hawks never served in the armed forces.

The biggest hawks never served because if they had, they would know war is hell and to be avoided if at all possible.

It’s hard to remember an extended period, in my lifetime, when the U.S. wasn’t at war (officially or de facto).
