SUPER-TWEET ME BITCHEZ!
Here’s one of our Funktion One super-tweeters that got installed over the dance floor earlier this week.
All the peripheral/fill speakers are hung and the rest of the sound system — the really big stuff — gets installed early next week and powered up for a sound check scheduled for Thrusday.
And then our lighting God, Steve Lieberman from SJ Lighting, arrives next Friday to work through the weekend programming our lighting package.

I’m curious… do nightclubs set up their sound systems to provide stereophonic sound from some point in the room? Or is it basically a humongous and expansive, multi-speakered monophonic sound system?

Alex the systems should be tuned to the room and your speakers are placed in such a way that regardless of where you are in the room you’re getting stereo sound. Unless of course you choose to stand right in front of a ten foot tall speaker stack. Then all you’re getting is mono.
What we did to maximize the quality of our sound system is to to make it a “flown” system. The big bass units stay on the floor but the mids, mid-highs, and highs are all hung at least 10 feet above the floor. That way the sound is moving around the room at head level without being blocked by a mass of human bodies when the dance floor is full.
