Hey little sister who's your Superman?

LET THERE BE LIGHT

We’re hanging the theatrical lighting package over the dance floor this week and these are some of the 25 moving heads that we’ll be using to create a veritable cornucopia of light for our patrons.

They’re bagged so as to keep dust away from their precision optics and motors.

In addition, there will be 60 spotlights arranged in 20 rows of 3 spots each and 388 two foot long LED panels that will be mounted end to end and running the length of each of those unistruts you see that run parallel to each other from left to right.

Oh, and just 31 days and a wake-up until the club opens to the public.

Providing we actually manage to get construction completed, that is.

They look like ball sacks, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I’ve said it before, I’m glad I’m not gonna pay your electric bill.
Good luck Scott, I know it will be a huge sucess.

So what is your process for interviewing and hiring a full time light man? I hate going to club s where the lighting is on autopilot, I assume Q will not be. Please do not allow internet access to the computers in the light booth. As someone who has done lights in a few clubs, there is nothing worse than a light man chain smoking, tweeting, on manhunt, while doing bumps, and trying to work the lights. I speak from experience. ;)

I would settle for just ONE “moving head” about now — it would improve my afternoon greatly.

I simply MUST see the LED panels in action! I think it is going to be absolutely amazing and love things like this.

Agreed Jason! SJ Lighting is installing our lighting board next week and then spending a couple days tweaking the system.

We’ll have a lighting guy on staff and I’m ready to “interview” a couple of them the week after the lights get operational.

Interestingly enough, Steve Lieberman — our lighting guru from SJ {Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival Miami} says that ideally we’ll get a guy who’s a young DJ who wants to do lights. That way he’s sensitive to the music and the beat.
