QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Chick-fil-A doesn’t belong in Boston. You can’t have a business in the city of Boston that discriminates against a population. We’re an open city, we’re a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion.
That’s the Freedom Trail. That’s where it all started right here. And we’re not going to have a company, Chick-fil-A or whatever the hell the name is, on our Freedom Trail.
If they need licenses in the city, it will be very difficult — unless they open up their policies.”
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino telling the homophobic and profoundly bigoted restaurant chain Chick-fil-A that the stores they had planned on opening in Beantown won’t be happening any time soon.

A positive start. The next objective is for cities and regions across the land to confront the Boy Scouts, and tell ‘em to shove their merit badges up their asses sans lube until there’s a massive change of policy and personnel.

Bravo for Boston, my old hometown,
The Cradle of Liberty and equality!
Boston, Boston,
The Land of the bean and the cod’
Where the Cabots speak only to the Lodges,
And the Lodges speak only to God!

Noting that the Romneys and other prominent repugs managed to live and go to school there without absorbing the freedom thing

…and this is good old Boston,
The home of the bean and the cod,
Where the Lowells talk only to Cabots,
And the Cabots talk only to God.

So refreshing to hear a civic leader stand up for ALL their constituents.
Well done Boston.
