FUCKING IDIOTS
Shorter Glenn Kessler of the Kaplan Test Prep Washington Post: “Keep on walking folks, there’s nothing to see here.”
“Mitt Romney left the helm of Bain Capital in 1999…. [T]he language saying [in 2000, 2001, and 2002 that] Romney was “sole stockholder, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president” was boilerplate… there is no standard definition of a “chief executive”… no requirement for anyone to have any responsibilities even if they have that title….
Romney’s sudden departure from Bain had left the partnership in flux… resolution was not reached until he ended his Olympic sojourn [in 2002] and decided to run for governor. At that point, he signed retirement papers that set his departure date as February 1999…
We consulted with securities law experts…. One… pointed out that the titles are basically meaningless, that someone can be listed as a chief executive and actually have no responsibilities whatsoever.”
Imagonna help Glenn out a bit here and simply ask him this:
When in the history of western business dating back to the Stora Kopparberg mining community in Sweden — a community that first incorporated in 1347 under King Magnus Eriksson — has any person who was described by their company as being its,”CEO” “President” “Chairman of the Board” and ”sole stockholder” ever actually had no governance or management responsibilities within the company in which they are the “CEO” “President” “Chairman of the Board” and “sole stockholder”?
This is why America is so well and truly fucked — because we have moronic knob polishers infesting our newsrooms who would rather spend their time fluffing and fellating rich folk instead of doing their fucking jobs.

OMG I just knew I was a King in a former life!!!! I just wish we all could settle on one form of spelling our last name.
If I were King today I would have to hire you as my court jester Scott because I get all giggly when you say words like knob polishers and fellating. Oh, and because you like to blow things up too.

And you KNOW where all this is heading: Bain’s investment in Stericycle. That little medical waste company that chews up aborted fetuses and spits out gobs of money.
I don’t know if the Obama campaign is going to publicize this directly, or use surrogates to do the bidding, or leave it to some Super PAC, but it’s coming to an election near you!
I can imagine a direct mail piece directed to the Southern and swing states that fully describes how Mitt Romney’s Bain made tons of money in an industry he claims to be immoral and illegal.
Dirty politics, or promoting the truth? Just depends on your frame of reference, but America is going to get an education on Stericycle in the near future.

Romney founded the company and was CEO for what, over 20 years?
he set the policies, goals, culture and the ethics of the company. I’m sure many of the deals took months if not a year or more to complete and probably years more to implement the “Bain” corporate changes. so what the company does after he “retires” does matter.
even if Romney isn’t running the company, he continues to be a major investor in the company. if he isn’t on the board of directors, I’m sure he has close associates on the board.
when Steve Jobs died, most analysts didn’t think there would be an immediate effect on the Apple company since there are projects in the pipeline and the culture he created would go on for a while. the time to watch would be a year of two down the line to see how the new CEO would run the company. would he or could he keep Apple running like Steve Jobs? or will he take it in a new direction.

HONESTY — I was out of there in 1999, though, due to corporate situations and transitions, I was listed on most of the official papers as being in charge for a few years more, so I was, perhaps, legally in charge until then. (assuming that is true)
MORMONITY — why don’t you serfs take my word for it?
