QUOTE OF THE DAY
“I don’t think the common person is getting it. Nobody understands why Obama is hurting them.
We’ve got the message, but my college kid, the baby sitters, the nails ladies — everybody who’s got the right to vote – they don’t understand what’s going on. I just think if you’re lower income — one, you’re not as educated, two, they don’t understand how it works, they don’t understand how the systems work, they don’t understand the impact.”
A Romney supporter speaking on the condition of anonymity at the big $50,000 a couple fundraiser held for Mittens at the Hamptons home of billionaire plutocrat Ron Pearlman this weekend.
Aside from the contemptible attitude held by this despicable woman that people who are not as rich as she is are, therefore, not as educated {read that to mean smart}, the thing that strikes me here with her thinking is just how fucking correct she is.
Because the kids who go to college, and the nails ladies, and the babysitters, along with the overwhelming mass of the booboisie who watch Fox News would be arming themselves to the tits and shooting these fucking 1 Percenters down in the streets like rabid dogs if they did know how the system actually works.

I read that and this thought immediately came to mind:
Money doesn’t buy happiness and it doesn’t buy intelligence. What money buys is access, priviledge and opportunity that those without money are blocked from. I’ve seen it with my own eyes in my family, some of whom are extremely well-off and others who struggle to get by week-to-week. I see how those who acquire money do everything in their power to “block” those without from achieving the same opportunities and quite often they hide behind the lie that “if we (ie. the wealthy) do better than it will trickle down to the poor.” That is total bullshit.
Companies and CEO’s have continued to post record profits and record incomes during this world-wide economic decline…..and I ask, where is the trickle down if that theory is to be believed????

It should also be noted that “Bitsy” here made her remarks from the comfort of her Range Rover with the Hampton beach stickers. I only hope her babysitter is secretly turning her children into socialists/communists/scientoligists while she’s out having her nails done by that stupid poor nail lady who’s using dirty equipment and giving her an infection that will require her fingers to be amputated. Guess you can tell I’m not feeling the love for the 1% today.

Agreed.

The kids who went to college ARE the nail ladies !!

There goes Revlon’s market amongst the 99% after Perlman’s hosting the VIP fundraiser at his Hamptons chateau. Surely the “nail ladies” will be switching their lipstick preference. When asked in 2008 what was the median American income, John McCain guessed. “5 million?” In London during the WW11 blitz, Mrs Asquith bemoaned the misfortune of her friends who had to live in hotels for safety, “away from their cooks.” The 1% endure such sacrifices. Noblesse oblige.

That may be, but I took the comment to be a bit more far reaching than that and thus found it a terribly offensive and snobbish. I do see what you mean and while you are correct right now, I sure hope that the people wise up pronto so that they can overwhelm the vast right-wing conspiracy that controls our country. Mom and I were discussing this issue just this morning. She takes a pessimistic view, while I am more of an optimist. She feels that the church will keep people in their place while I feel that the military will balk on firing at their own people, as they did in Egypt, when it comes down to it. By then, our military will be burned out by numerous redeployments and lack of healthcare and will be very unhappy campers. Anyhow, then she had to take her dog to the groomers to get him ready for elderly visits.

You did hear that all city employees in Scranton, PA including police and firefighters are now working for minimum wage? That’s right, $7.25 an hour to protect a city, when this cretin in a Range Rover doesn’t understand why the entire economy can’t be composed of hedge fund largess. Well, we know how the French Revolution ended, I guess American Revolution 2.0 will be not too far off.

I can not recommend this radio program enough. This aired today on CBC Radio’s “The Current” discussing the slavery in the Florida migrant community and us marching closer to revolution in the USA. If this is the “system” that the Hampton Hedge Fund beneficiary is referring to, then we are getting closer to the end point of it.
Here is the program description:
“Chris Hedges has spent much of his life covering the world as a foreign correspondent. Lately, he’s been focused on what he calls the Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt in the United States. That’s the title of his new book, which documents the devastation of a series of U.S. communities in excruciating, heart-rending detail. He argues, based on reporting from countries where people have risen up against injustice, that a sort of revolution is brewing in the U.S. right now. He’s controversial, a supporter of the Occupy movement, wildly popular in some circles… and he argues Canada is suffering the same disease of decay.”

It’s an hour long program, but seriously worth your time.

Yes the system. Inherit your money and live off the investments. Never do menial labor, instead go shopping at the most fashionable stores, eat at the trendiest restaurants and plan everything around the summer or winter social schedule.

Many years ago I remember watching a period drama about the Russian Revolution. The scene I remember was an aristocrat just arrived home and ordered his servants to pack up the family treasure and instructed his wife and daughters to hide their jewels inside their clothing and prepare to flee. Before they could make good their escape, an officer (a Bolshevik) broke into the room, saw what was happening and quickly dispatched the aristocrat with a single shot to the head, declaring he was a traitor and an enemy of the people. The women were all arrested and their wealth seized for the people.
At the time (I was a young man and this was the early 60′s and I believed Communism was the world’s greatest evil) I was shocked and outraged by this cold blooded murder by a commie thug. This type of thing is why I joined the military and volunteered to prevent the communist dominoes from falling in Vietnam.
Now I’m an old man. In many ways my attitudes and opinions have changed. I realize I was very foolish and extremely naive and used by my country in Vietnam to protect corporate property, not to defend America against communist aggression. Thinking back on that movie scene now, I no longer find it so outrageous. I can now understand it and the dynamics that drove that Bolshevik officer to do what he did. As much as I hate to admit it, I could see myself taking the same action or pulling the lever of the Guillotine or cheering the sight of people like this Range Rover bitch’s head atop a pike.
I don’t like what my country has become. I don’t like what it has done to me, what I have become. I hate feeling such rage. Everything has become a perversion of reality.

Why do people who are actually hurt by repugnican policies, as well as the rich, cling to these selfish positions?
Unfortunately, it is the continuing death rattle of the the “White males rule America” thing, which started to become untrue about the time Scott was a little kid. I remember when Italian was not White, when Blacks stayed in their part of town, when it seemed tragic if one’s mother worked, and all the diversity issue was way in the future.
You see, it seems much simpler to cling to that old model, because it closes all the discussions, and removes the need to think.
This woman is still upset that Rosa Parks did not give her seat to the White man, who might have represented her husband.
And the catholick, morhole, and other churches are still based on the model of the White Guy running everything

Revolution indeed. Madame DeFarge keeps on knitting. It’s a good thing the geniuses of the 1% are so rabid in protecting gun rights(the dumbasses) since 99% may need weapons against tyranny very soon.
