QUOTE OF THE DAY
“There are rumors all over the place that Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner is about gone, and I’ve even heard some gossip indicating that Rahm Emanuel might have to start watching his back. Hey, whatever works. Obama, as is his nature I think, tried to take the fork in the road all year, making nice to his base while actually delivering to his money people, not realizing the two were perpetually in conflict. His failure to make a clear choice, or rather to make the right choice, is what has doomed him everywhere politically.”

I love Matt Taibbi. He does a great job of hitting the nail on the head. Now I just need to meet him casually at a cocktail party get him liquored up and take adavantage of him… but in a nice way, so that he respects me in the morning.

I agree, Sean. Having seen him several times on “Real Time with Bill Maher”, I think he’s one smart and sexy cookie. BTW, in case you didn’t know, his father (presumably, there’s a strong resemble in addition to a common, uncommon last name, is a reporter at NBC News, Mike Taibbi.

Add Larry Summers to the downsizing and I’ll be satisfied. If anyone is sacked, it must be the first step in a legitimate, measurable policy turnaround and not political kabuki.

Jon Corzine is available to take Geithner’s place.
Paul Krugman is available to take Bernanke’s place.
Tom Daschle is available to take Rahm’s place.
The one year mark is a good point to bow out gracefully.
I’d say, shortly after the State of the Union address.
I’m sure Barack is tired of hearing “f*#k” as every other word out of the Chief of Staff’s mouth.
Plus Rahm really hasn’t delivered, has he?
Also, where do you think he was on his African “vacation” during the summer of 08?
Getting orders from Mossad?
