I just read the Brooks column……what an utter and complete asshole. He sounds like Pat Robertson summoning that bullshit voodoo argument while conveniently ignoring corporate crime which has worked to keep the people of Haiti poor.

not to defend brooks, even though the taibbi piece was rather facile.
brooks did raise some good points, while making an ass of himself elsewhere. his timing certainly sucks but then again taibbi does not bring anything constructive besides trashing brooks. next time i’ll pass both on taibbi and brooks.

amodelvalle I think the whole point of the Taibbi piece was to trash Brooks for the very same reasons that you point out yourself: that he makes an ass of himself and his timing sucks. So other than that amodelvalle — what’s your fucking point other than to try to demonstrate to all of us that you have a decent command of the vocabulary by using the word facile in a sentence properly?

there is no point, just as taibbi had no point except trashing brooks. thus the use of facile to highlight the superficiality of taibbi.
